Planetary Boundaries

The planetary boundaries framework quickly became popular among various stakeholders, arguably because of its scientific grounding combined with its intuitive rationale and easily accessible visual presentation. A common request since its publication has been to downscale the planetary boundaries to the level of “individuals”, companies and countries, that is, what is required for each to stay within the “safe operating space”.
